How Sizeproof works
Sizeproof answers one question: which bag fits every airline on your trip? You pick your airlines and the kind of bag you want, and it checks 63 bags against 38 airlines' published limits.
Where the numbers come from
- Airline limits are quoted from each airline's own baggage page, with the link and the date we checked it. Where we could only read a copy of the airline's page, the airline page says so.
- Bag sizes come from the brand's own product page, or a major retailer's listing when the brand's page couldn't be read. Every bag page links its sources.
- Many brands list a size that leaves out wheels or handles, or don't say what the size includes. We flag those bags, because the real bag is bigger than the number suggests.
How a fit is judged
- A bag fits when each of its sides is within the matching side of the airline's limit, however the bag is turned, and within any total (length + width + height) limit.
- Borderline means over by no more than the rounding in published sizes (0.5 cm, about 0.2 in). Airlines and brands round their numbers, so these may pass, but we never show them as a fit.
- Too big means clearly over at least one side.
- When an airline publishes no size (some only say "must fit under the seat"), we say so instead of guessing.
Gate agents decide on the day, and budget airlines measure more strictly than most. Use Sizeproof to choose a bag, and check your airline's page before you fly.
How Sizeproof is paid for
Some shop links on this site are affiliate links: if you buy through one, Sizeproof may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never change which bags are shown or how they're ranked; the ranking comes only from your answers and the sizes.
Privacy
Sizeproof has no accounts and sets no cookies of its own. Your answers stay in the page address so you can share a result, and your choice of inches or centimetres is remembered in your browser. Shops you visit from here may set their own cookies.
Spotted a wrong size?
Airlines change their rules and brands update their bags. If a number here is out of date, email [email protected] with the bag or airline and we'll check it against the source.
